Bio:
A major signing for the Sheffield Steelers is the return of former league title and play off champion Robert Dowd.
Dowd had a stunning start to his professional career with the Steelers from 2008-2011 winning two league titles and two play off championships as well as scoring 65 goals including 23 in his rookie season.
A move to Belfast saw Dowd hook up with new Steelers coach Doug Christiansen. Dowdy scored an incredible 37bgoals in 52 games and the Giants won the league title. Dowds 3rd title in 4 seasons.
That incredible year prompted a move to Europe and to Swedish side Troja-Ljungby in the Allsvenskan where Dowd scored an impressive 10 goals and 24 points in his first season.
Dowd returns to Sheffield on a two year contract.
