Bank Holiday Update from Ashley Tait

Steelers player assistant coach Ashley Tait confirmed that both he and Ryan Finnerty had been speaking over the weekend as team plans continue ahead of next season

"When your a player you can turn off after the last game of the season, relax, plan a holiday and enjoy yourself. Certainly for a couple of weeks before you start to think of the gym and working out ahead of the new year

"Now you are thinking all the time, thinking how the team will look, who will be in what positions, who we need to sign. Ryan and I spend a lot of time on the phone and e-mailing with different ideas on different players and a like

"The situation right now is that we have a couple of offers out, they have both been agreed verbally and just need signing. Hopefully early next week the ink will be dried and we can move on to find guys in other positions.

"I think every club is looking for that "Steve Munn" type D man, I know we are. They are few and far between. I was watching the NHL Play Offs the other night and teams over there keep saying "Where do you find that solid shut down D man - I thought they have $5 Million and they cant find one.

"A few names are starting to cross our path on goaltending, we have a few ideas but again we will wait this out

"All in all we are pleased with the progress we have made and continue to make. Hope the fans are as excited as we are"
