Danny Meyers Made Assisitant Captain

Ryan Finnerty confirmed that Danny Meyers would join Jonathan Phillips and Rod Sarich as the teams captains this coming season.

Jonathan Phillips presented Meyers with his first Steelers shirt on Wednesday, just after the clubs first training session at the Arena

Steelers coach Ryan Finnerty said "I have no issue with Danny taking a leadership role here, it's one of his many good qualities

"I don't see it as an issue that he is new to this team, came from Nottingham or anything else. In my opinion he is right for the job which is why he will wear the "A"



Meyers said "I feel very proud, it's a huge honour. I have been so well received here and made to feel very welcome. When I saw the A on the shirt i was very surprised. It wasn't something I had expected but feel very privalidged. I just can't wait to get this whole thing going on Saturday, these are very exciting times"
