Finnerty Praise For Shields and Stephenson

Steelers head coach Ryan Finnerty was disappointed but realistic after Saturday's 4-3 defeat to the Coventry Blaze
"Obviously I would have preferred a win but I saw more positives than negatives. I thought we dominated the first period and really should have been 3 goals up going into the first break" he said
"I think you could see we had only been on the ice three times and I guess that is what pre season is about. I thought Coventry looked like a team that had skated a little more than us and already had a game under their belt.
"I thought Steven Goertzen got better and better after every shift. Colin Shields looked dangerous every time he was on the ice and the team stood up for one another when it all got a little heated. You have to tip your hat to Matt Stephenson for standing in with Olson twice that’s for sure.
"Pre season is about using all of our players and i tried to run 4 lines tonight, maybe in the league we would have gone with three. Everyone though is finding their feet.
"I think Geoff Woolhouse will start tomorrow, I need to get him out there playing as well"
