More Brit Signings Soon Says Finnerty

Steelers head coach Ryan Finnerty might be back in Canada but only hours after confirming three of the clubs top British players returning he has advised the clubs management that he has another two home grown players signed and ready for release in the next few days.

On Thursday the Steelers confirmed that Captain Jonathan Phillips, Jason Hewitt and Lee Esders would be back for the club next season "Those three added to the likes of Colin Shields, Mark Thomas and Ashley Tait certainly give us depth" said Finnerty "we will announce another Brit on Saturday and another one on Tuesday as well"

Finnerty also commented on the Danny Meyers situation in Nottingham after their Captain was released by the Panthers "That came out of the blue and surprised me, it will be interesting to see where Danny ends up. I wish he was one of those guys we were announcing on Saturday and Tuesday but he isn't"

"I have said many times that depth was a key area for us and I think we will have the best and the deepest Brit pack in the league. We saw last year after Dowdy had left us and then Ash was injured that we just couldn't replace them, it was pointless having spare imports in the stands with Dowdy in Belfast and Ash in the press box. We needed more Brits and we will have them"
