Panthers and Blaze Signings Good for the League

Steelers player assistant coach Ashley Tait believes that the recent signings by the Nottingham Panthers and Coventry Blaze are good for the EIHL

"Finner and I saw David Ling play at the end of last season" said Tait "he is a good player who will score well in our league. He is a great signing for the Panthers just like Michael Schutte is for the Blaze

"In fact Ryan and I were going through every teams roster on Friday and I dont think any team has made a bad signing yet

"I know we were linked to David Ling after we went to Italy after the season had ended to look at him and several other players. David Impressed us a lot but we would have had to make a two year agreement and I think both sides were a little unsure whether that was in either sides best interest

"Nottingham have a very skilled player there, as do Coventry with Schutte. Again we looked at his services, we felt though that we needed a different style of player. We have Roddy and Jim Jorgensen who play a similar role

"We have gone in a different direction which will become clear towards the end of the week. We feel we have addressed areas that needed attending to throughout the make up of the team and we are pleased with the outcome, the two signings we are completing right now fill in some gaps

"These signings are good for the league. I think fans at every club are excited about not on their own team but also the other ones as well. Every club has improved and that can only benefit the league and the supporters enjoyment"
