Steelers GB Boys back on the Ice

Steelers Captain Jonathan Phillips, Jason Hewitt, Mark Thomas and Geoff Woolhouse are all back on the ice today - in Manchester for Team GB training

The Steelers quartet, together with new signing Colin Shields are amongst 25 players attending the three day training camp ahead of the World Championships that commence in Slovenia this weekend.

The squad of 25 will be cut down to 23 prior to departure and Phillips is hoping he isn't one that will be released from the squad "I guess it's a feat that hangs over all of us. There isn't a player who wants to be released, we all love the World Championships and representing our Country.

"I think all of us are excited, we have new coaches to impress and probably the toughest group we could have imagined. For us Steelers boys we are coming off the back of a great year, though with a disappointing end. We are itching to get back on the ice and impress. There isn't any reason why we can't succeed in Slovenia and come back with a medal"
