American defenceman Robbie Stucker joins the Sheffield Steelers for the 2026-27 season as he begins the first European chapter of his professional career.

The 27-year-old arrives in Sheffield following four seasons playing professionally in North America’s ECHL, most recently with the Utah Grizzlies.

A big, mobile two-way defenceman, Stucker brings further size and competition to Aaron Fox’s blue line and gives the Steelers additional depth at the back for the campaign ahead.

After spending his career to date in North America, Stucker was excited by the opportunity to make Sheffield his first destination in Europe.

“I was looking for the right opportunity to start my European career after four years playing professionally back home, and I’m super excited to get things going here,” he said.

“The city, the club and the history here are all great. My first impressions have been unreal.

“I’ve seen the Arena and it’s a big building. I just can’t wait to see it filled with Steelers fans. I’m expecting it to be rocking.”

What Aaron Fox Says

Steelers Head Coach Aaron Fox believes Stucker’s all-round game will make him a valuable addition to his defensive group.

“Robbie is a good, solid two-way defenceman. This will be his first experience of playing in Europe, but he’s big, he skates well and he can make plays.

“I think he’ll be a really good addition to our group.”

Stucker’s arrival also gives Fox seven defencemen to work with, creating competition for places throughout the Steelers blue line.

“We’ve talked a lot about creating a competitive culture within our group,” Fox continued.

“We’re going to put the best team we can on the ice every single night and Robbie is coming here to compete for his place.”

Stucker joins Brien Diffley, Dominic Cormier, Aatu Aarnio, Logan Roe, Macoy Erkamps and Liam Steele in a deep and competitive Steelers defensive unit.
