391 Game Ex-NHL’er Arrives in Sheffield
Steelers head coach Aaron Fox has moved quickly in securing the services of 391 game ex NHL’er Brett Ritchie from Austrian side Villacher.
Ritchie comes with a wealth of NHL experience with sides such as Dallas, Calgary, Boston and Arizona, he also won a Calder Cup during his time in the AHL with the Texas Stars.
Fox commented on the signing saying “Brett is a big, physical power forward who brings a wealth of experience, and a strong net-front presence to our lineup.

“He plays a hard, north-south game, skates well for his size and and isn’t afraid to do the dirty work and is willing to get to the hard areas. Brett adds size, leadership, and a veteran presence that will be huge for our group both on the ice and in the room.
“We are very excited to get him in and rolling here”.
Ritchie has arrived in Sheffield and travelled to Scotland with the team ahead of this weekend games against Glasgow (tonight), Fife (Saturday) and Dundee (Sunday)
Fox continued “He is here and ready, willing and able to play, we are just waiting for the authorities to grant approval, that may or may not happen this weekend”
