“He will score us big goals” says Dom
Steelers defenceman Dominic Cormier is no stranger to new signing Olivier Archambault, having previously faced him during their time in the ECHL.
Cormier is confident that the forward will make an immediate impact in Sheffield:
“I think Archie is going to be a great signing for the Steelers,” said Cormier. “He’s a guy who will come in and have a big role with us from day one.”
Archambault’s offensive consistency is something that has stood out throughout his career, scoring 317 points in the AHL and ECHL
“He’s put up strong numbers everywhere he’s played, whether that’s in North America or Europe,” Cormier added.
The connection between the two extends beyond the ice, with the pair having built a friendship off it as well.
“I played against him in the Coast, and then got to know him really well when I was living in Montreal,” he explained.
Cormier also revealed that a move to Sheffield has been in the works for some time.
“We’ve actually been talking about him coming here for over a year now. I know he’s really excited about the opportunity, and I’m sure he’ll score some big goals for us next season“
