Fox Confirms Another New Signing as Steelers Roster Nears Completion

Sheffield Steelers Head Coach Aaron Fox has confirmed that another new signing has agreed to join the club ahead of the 2026-27 Motorpoint Elite League season.

The identity of the latest addition will be revealed on Monday, with the signing taking the Steelers to within one player of completing their roster for the new campaign.

Fox has previously indicated that, alongside his final import signing, he would also like to add a versatile “swing” player capable of playing both forward and defence, providing valuable cover throughout the season.

The latest arrival becomes the 11th new addition to the Steelers this summer. That figure includes the return of Brandon Whistle, the promotions of Ivan Björkly-Nordström and Liam Steele from the Sheffield Steeldogs, together with a host of exciting new imports who will make their Elite League debut in orange this season.

Speaking after securing his latest recruit, Fox admitted he is delighted with how the squad has come together.

“I’m really pleased with our latest addition and I think our supporters will be as well.

“The roster is shaping up very nicely and we’re now down to just the final couple of pieces before we’re ready for the new season.”

With anticipation continuing to build, supporters won’t have long to wait before discovering the identity of the Steelers’ newest player, with the official announcement scheduled for Monday.

The countdown to the new season is now firmly underway.

The Steelers begin their 2026-27 campaign with a home-and-away pre-season series against the defending Play-Off Champion Cardiff Devils over the weekend of 29th and 30th August.

The first home game of the new season takes place at the Utilita Arena on Sunday 30th August, with a 4.00pm face-off.
