Steelers can confirm the signing of 6’1 right winger Kameron Kielly for the 2023-24 Elite League Season.
Announcing the signing head coach Aaron Fox said “Kam is 6’1 Forward who can play all 3 forward positions and plays a very effective 200 foot game.
“He’s extremely motivated to come in and be an impact player for us. Kam is coming off an injury that cut his season short last year but his healthy and can’t wait to get started.
“Kam will start off in a bottom 6 role, but I feel he will be one of those guys that will be pushing that internal competition in our group for a bigger role as the season goes on.
“He’s put up really solid stats in the ECHL and dominated for 3 years at the Usports Level playing against a ton of familiar names to our league”.
On signing for the Steelers Kielly said “I think this is a fantastic opportunity for me, I see my career developing in Europe and the chance to come and play in Sheffield was too good to turn down”
Kielly who has played alongside former Steelers Eric Neiley and Liam Kirk said that discussions with Aaron Fox didn’t take long “Foxy sent photos of the arena, training facilities etc and I was on board, then when he explained about the fan support and the quality of the organisation then I knew this is where I should be playing this coming year”
On his style of play Kameron explained “I’m a two-way forward with a little offensive flair, I’d like to say I am an offensive player but I work hard in whatever role I’m given”
