Cole Shudra returns to the Steelers for the 2023-24 season after spending the past two years with the Leeds Knights.

Shudra is a name synonymous with the Steelers, Cole’s father Ron,  was of course a member of the first Steelers side back in 1991, our captain and a member of the 1996 Grand Slam side.

Cole has already played 129 games for the club after becoming the first Steeler apprentice back in 2016 (alongside Liam Kirk)

During his time at the club Cole also moved and played for different sides as part of his agreement with the club icing for Nittorps (Sweden), Coventry Blaze and Milton Keynes Lightning before his full time move to Leeds.

Last season Shudra scored an incredible 50 goals and 113 points in just 56 league games.

Head coach Aaron Fox said “Cole has went down to the NIHL and developed his 200 foot game with Leeds and built a ton of confidence in his play

“He has definitely earned a full time role at our level with how well he has played. 

“Bringing Cole back was a no brainer.  To look local to one of our own who I know exactly what we can expect and wants to be here and definitely will be playing the right way. 

“With Cole also being able to play both F and D quite comfortably we can use him in that swing role if needed”

With his Dad’s #26 hanging in the arena rafters Cole will once again wear the #27 Shudra shirt this coming season.
