Evan Jasper returns for the 2026/27 season as he enters the second year of his two-year contract with the Sheffield Steelers.

A hard-working and highly skilled forward, Jasper was ever-present during the 2025/26 campaign, skating in all 70 games across league, cup and play-off competition. He recorded an impressive 18 goals and 54 points in his debut season with the club.

Prior to arriving in Sheffield, Jasper built a wealth of experience across Europe and North America. After completing his collegiate career at Sacred Heart University between 2014 and 2017—where he served as team captain—he turned professional with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in 2017.

A move to Europe followed, beginning in Denmark with Frederikshavn White Hawks in 2018/19, before a stint in China with ORG Beijing in the VHL. The 2020/21 season saw Jasper split time between Chamonix in France and Germany, where he played a key role in helping Bietigheim Steelers secure promotion from DEL2 to the DEL. He remained in Germany for a further two seasons before moving to Czechia with Mountfield HK.

The 2024/25 season took Jasper to Austria, where he recorded 23 points in 46 games with the Vienna Capitals, before making the move to the UK.

“I guess I like to travel,” said Jasper. “But I’m really excited to be in the UK and to continue my time with the Steelers.

“I was instantly impressed when Aaron Fox reached out. I loved the communication and everything he told me about the club.

“What really drew me to Sheffield was the championship culture. The expectations here—from the organisation and the fans—are to win trophies. I wanted to be part of a team that competes at the highest level and is always pushing for success.

“I also spoke with Daniel Ciampini, who had nothing but great things to say about the club, the fans and the city. In the end, it made my decision very easy.”

On what he brings to the team, Jasper added: “I bring speed, offensive ability and hopefully plenty of scoring. I also pride myself on my experience, and I hope that can have a positive impact in the locker room as well.”

Head Coach Aaron Fox said: “Evan is a dynamic offensive player who has produced strong numbers in some very competitive European leagues.

“He’ll slot into a top-six role and give us a real scoring threat. He skates well, competes hard and isn’t afraid to get to the tough areas.

“Evan is versatile—he can play all three forward positions and has contributed on both the power play and penalty kill throughout his career. We believe his game will translate very well here.”
