Leevi Teissala joins the Sheffield Steelers for the 2026-27 Elite League season, adding speed, creativity and top-level Finnish experience to Aaron Fox’s roster.

The 25-year-old forward arrives in Sheffield after spending the past three seasons with TPS in Finland’s Liiga, one of Europe’s strongest domestic leagues. During his time in Finland’s top flight, Teissala made 195 Liiga appearances, while also gaining further European experience in the Champions Hockey League.

A skilled and creative winger, Teissala is known for playing with pace, confidence on the puck and the ability to make plays in traffic. His offensive instincts, quick hands and willingness to compete in all areas of the ice make him an exciting addition to the Steelers line-up.

Head Coach Aaron Fox has described Teissala as a hard-working and competitive player with strong two-way habits, excellent speed and the potential to become a major point producer for the club.

After taking on a variety of roles in recent seasons, Teissala arrives in Sheffield looking forward to adding offence, creating chances and playing the creative style of hockey he enjoys most.

With almost 200 games of Liiga experience already behind him, Teissala brings proven quality, energy and flair to the Steelers as he begins the next chapter of his career in Sheffield.
