Sam Tremblay’s love affair with Sheffield continues after he pledged another year in the Steel City after a first season split between the Steelers – the Steeldogs and the Steelers again.

After a season in the Elite League with Manchester Storm Tremblay moved to the Steeldogs as he is studying at Loughborough University however prior to the regular season starting Sam was included in the Steelers Champions League squad.

After returning to the Steeldogs Tremblay scored 30 goals and 68 points in 43 games but just prior to the transfer deadline moved back to the Steelers to complete the season making a further 18 league and 4 play off appearances scoring 8 goals and 18 points.

At first it was agreed that Sam would return to the Steeldogs but in April Steelers head coach Aaron Fox made the move that all Steelers fans wanted and confirmed that Tremblay would be a full time Steelers in season 25-26

Fox said ““Trembs is a tone setter and just a guy who plays hard every night and leads by example with how consistently good and responsible his game is.

“He plays a bit of an old school game of finishing hits and being hard to play against. Sam is a relentless 200 foot player that good teams need and we were definitely a better hockey team when he was in the lineup for us last year. 

“Sam can play all 3 forward positions and really chipped in offensively as well. I’m really happy that he’s on board for a full season with us next year”.

Prior to his arrival in the UK Tremblay played at McGill University between 2016 and 2022 before turning pro and playing a single season in the East Coast League with Wheeling Nailers scoring 9 goals and 29 points in 63 games.
