Logan Neilson is a Sheffield Steeler after signing for the club in May.
Logan joins a long list of former Panthers who left Nottingham to win in Sheffield, Messrs Dampier, Odelien, Blaisdell, Brebant, Bobyck, Adey, and Danny Meyers.
It’s a massive move for the 22 year old, leaving a club he grew up at and one that was coached for such a long time by his Father, Corey.
After starting life off in the Nottingham junior club, Logan moved back to the States playing AAA hockey mostly for the West Coast Renegades.
In 2021 Logan moved to play for Olds Grizzles in the Alberta Junior League and he remained with them for another 20 games the following season before moving to Corpus Christi IceRays in the North American Hockey League.
A move back to Nottingham then followed in 2023 and he has been a Panther for the last two seasons scoring 12 goals and 30 points in 99 games.
Post season, Logan was also a member of the men’s senior national team that won promotion back to the top tier of the Wolds game.
Head Coach Aaron Fox said “Logan is a big, young winger that has an extremely high skill set and ceiling. I think he has the potential to be a guy who is a double digit goal scorer, and that will be able to play up and down the lineup.
“When you watch his tape, you can see he thinks the game offensively at a high level and has a great shot and skill set. He’s also willing to get to the hard areas. He’s still figuring out how best to use his size and reach to his advantage, but competes hard.
He’s also a bit of a rink rat, which is something you like to see with the younger guys who love being at the rink putting in the work. I’m looking forward to having him in and getting to work with him.”
