Returning to the Steelers for a third year is goalie Matt Greenfield.

The 29 year old American joined the Steelers for the 202-23 season from the Kansas City Mavericks (ECHL)  where he spent two years, in time split with both Springfield and Stockton (AHL)

Greenfield was voted the EIHL all star goalie in his inaugural season in Sheffield and also went on to win the clubs player of the year, players player of the year and the supporters club player of the year.

In 53 league games Greenfield boasted a saves percentage of 92% and a goals against record of just 2.22 with 7 shutouts and a 36-17-0 record

Head coach Aaron Fox said upon re-signing Greenfield “This was the easiest decision of the off season, an outstanding goalie and even better person

“Matt gives us a chance to win every night and that’s all you ever want from your goalie. He will be the backbone of the side in 24-25”
