Ryan Tait returns to the Sheffield Steelers for the 2026-27 Elite League season after an impressive first campaign in Orange, where he established himself as one of the club’s hardest-working and most versatile forwards.

Tait joined the Steelers ahead of the 2025-26 season following three successful years with the Guildford Flames and immediately became a key part of Aaron Fox’s lineup. An ever-present throughout the campaign, he appeared in all 54 Elite League games, 12 Challenge Cup fixtures and four Playoff matches, recording 14 goals and 50 points.

A pacey, energetic forward, Tait is capable of playing in every situation. Whether contributing offensively, shutting down opposition lines or leading the penalty kill, his commitment, consistency and team-first mentality have made him an invaluable member of the Steelers roster.

Head Coach Aaron Fox describes Tait as a player with complete buy-in to the team’s philosophy, praising his versatility, relentless work ethic and ability to slot anywhere in the lineup. His speed, positive attitude and willingness to embrace any role make him one of the club’s most dependable performers.

Now entering his second season with the club, Tait remains an important part of the Steelers’ core as the team looks to challenge for honours once again during the 2026-27 campaign.
