It will be the fourth season with the Steelers for defenceman Sam Jones after he joined the club from Fife Flyers ahead of the Elite Series in 2020-21

Jones was born in Walsall but moved to North America at a young age playing Bantam and junior hockey overseas.

Sam returned to the UK in time for the 2016 season with Milton Keynes followed by a year in Swindon before joining the Flyers for his first crack at the Elite League in 2019

Entering the 23-24 season Jones has already played 126 games in Orange and his form for the Steelers has now seen him become a regular in the GB men’s national senior side including the team that won promotion to the world’s top pool last April.

“With every season Sam becomes more experienced and a larger part of our team” said head coach Aaron Fox “I’m confident with him out there in all situations and expect big things from him in the years ahead”
