Scott Allen returns for a second season with the Steelers after impressing in his first year at the club where he scored 50 points in 54 league, cup and play-off games.
The 6’3 centre joined the Steelers after a 5 year spell in mainland Europe, a season with Sparta Sarpsporg (Norway), and majority of time with Freiburg (DEL2) under head coach Pete Russel (now of Cardiff)
Prior to heading overseas Allen completed his education at the University of Alaska-Anchorage turning pro in 2015 signing for the Colorado Eagles of the ECHL
Scott went on to play 51 games in the Coast and a further 62 in the American Hockey League before switching continents.
Allen’s line with Daniel Ciampini and Brett Neumann was Sheffield’s number 1 unit in 2022-23 with all three linemates putting up good numbers, head coach Aaron Fox will be hoping for more of the same this year as well.
Head coach Aaron Fox said “Scotty is a very important piece in our team for the season ahead
“Not just his numbers last year but his consistent play and his relationship with his team mates, especially Ciampini and Neumann, made it a no brainer for us to try and bring him back.
“As with all good players he had options but we are delighted he chose to return to play in Orange this season”
