Steelers Arrive in Fribourg Ahead of CHL opener.

Full squad travels ahead of the opening Thursday night fixture

It was an early start for the Steelers, who left Sheffield at 5am on Wednesday morning, heading to Manchester airport and a flight to Switzerland ahead of the opening game of the Champions Hockey League.


After arriving in Zurich the team took a 90 minute bus ride to their hotel on the outskirts of Fribourg

Equipment manager, Andy Akers head to the rink to prepare the Steelers dressing room whilst the team went directly to the hotel.

Before dinner tonight the squad will have a work out with strength and conditioning coach Mike Mawer, then on game day Thursday the team will enjoy a pre-game skate in the morning ahead of the game that faces off at 6.45pm

A full Steelers squad has traveled to Fribourg including Sheffield Steeldogs forward Samuel Tremblay.

Steeldogs at Home on Saturday 7pm

Jonathan Phillips will be back in the Steeldogs line up this weekend, and that means he plays against Hull at ICE Sheffield on Sunday – Face Off 7.00pm

Tickets are just £13.00 including fees for the clubs Arena home opener against Sparta Prague a week on Friday.

It will be the first time the Steelers will have played on home Arena Ice this season
