Josh Nicholls, Kevin Tansey, Patrick Watling and Mark Simpson all scored for the Steelers whilst Matt Greenfield completed a 36 shot shut-out in a comprehensive victory in Nottingham on Wednesday night.

Steelers, who were without Sam Jones and Brandon Whistle, were in control of the game throughout, and with the victory maintaining our 4 point lead at the top of the EIHL table.

It’s seven successive wins for Aaron Fox’s side, who next take on Manchester Storm this coming Saturday at the Arena – Buy Tickets “HERE”

First Period.

Tight opening exchange with Matt Greenfield called upon to make the first big save of the night.

Josh Nicholls thought he had opened the scoring as he fired through traffic in the opening exchange only for Rok to make the first of several outstanding saves.

Daniel Ciampini set up Mark Simpson with a delightful backhand pass but again Rok denied.

Nicholls did make the break through at 7.46 finishing off with a simple tap in following great work down the left wing from Cole Shudra for a 1-0 scoreline

Steelers continued to create and their were chances for Colton Saucerman, Mark Simpson, Brett Neumann and Cole Shudra.

A Panthers penalty at 18.51 had the Steelers on the PP for the end of the period with Rok making a double save at the hooter as we looked to double the advantage.

Second Period .

A fantastic tic, take, toe move at the start of the middle session almost got the period off to the perfect start but it wasn’t to be.

At the other end Matt Greenfield stopped Henbrant with a fine save.

Steelers tarted to once again take control and it seemed like just a matter of time for the 2nd goal to come along, it did at 27.18 when Kevin Tansey fired home with a one timer off one knee, Marco Vallerand and Robert Dowd assisted.

30.38 and Scott Allen had a penalty shot with Rok making the sop on the Steelers forward.
