Steelers Make the Headlines – Double Page Spread in Today’s Sheffield Star

The Star’s Coverage Once Again Outstanding

Cup semi-final celebrations dominate the sports pages as Steelers prepare for Saturday’s huge clash with Nottingham Panthers.

The Sheffield Steelers are making the headlines once again, with today’s Sheffield Star (Friday 30th October) dedicating a fantastic double-page spread to Wednesday night’s 5-2 victory over Manchester Storm.

The win at the Utilita Arena secured Aaron Fox’s side a place in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup, and the city’s newspaper has given the achievement some terrific coverage across pages 40 and 41.

Tait’s Wonder Goal Makes the Headlines

The first of the two features concentrates on Ryan Tait, whose outstanding two-goal performance helped fire the Steelers into the last four.

Under the headline “Tait’s ‘favourite’ goal helps propel Steelers into Challenge Cup semis”, the Star looks back at Tait’s blistering individual effort that brought the House of Steel to its feet.

Tait’s speed and spectacular finish were among the highlights of a memorable Wednesday night, with the Steelers forward admitting it was one of his favourite goals in an orange shirt.

Fox Praises Crucial Video Review

The second feature, “Eagle-eyed Fox hails crucial video review as Steelers clinch victory”, concentrates on one of the game’s most important moments.

With Manchester threatening a comeback, the Steelers coaching staff successfully challenged a Storm goal for offside, keeping Sheffield’s two-goal advantage intact.

Head coach Aaron Fox praised the work of video coach Joe Macaig and the staff behind the bench, whose quick thinking and attention to detail helped ensure the Steelers progressed directly into the semi-finals.

It’s fantastic to see the Steelers receiving such prominent coverage in the local newspaper, and we thank The Sheffield Star for its continued support of ice hockey in the city.

Now It’s Time for the Panthers!

There is little time to celebrate Wednesday’s success, because attention now turns to another huge occasion at the Utilita Arena.
