The Steelers Sports Bar will host the snooker competition at the 2026 British Transplant Games on Thursday 6th August, as Sheffield welcomes competitors from across the UK.
The Transplant Active British Transplant Games bring transplant recipients together to compete across a wide range of sports, with this year’s Games taking place at venues across Sheffield from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th August.
The Steelers Sports Bar will welcome competitors taking part in the snooker competition on Thursday, with players coming together to compete as part of four days of sporting events taking place across the city.
The Transplant Active British Transplant Games provide an opportunity for transplant recipients to take part in competitive sport, meet others who have been through similar experiences and celebrate the positive impact of organ donation.
Alongside the sporting competition, the Games also help raise awareness of organ donation and the difference it can make to individuals and families across the country :
- The Games are a celebration of living life post-transplant, and how physical activity helps to improve the health and wellbeing of transplant recipients
- Have the conversation with your family about consenting to organ donation, and pass life on. You could save up to 9 lives – and change 50 more
- The Games celebrate the selfless commitment of donors and their families – they are heroes who have passed on the gift of life
With Sheffield hosting this year’s event, competitors and supporters will be visiting venues throughout the city across the four-day Games, bringing together sport and the local community.
