Life wouldn’t be the same with Valley and he is back in Orange
The Steelers are delighted to confirm the return of fan favourite Marco Vallerand for the 2024-25 season.
It will be Vallerand’s 5th season with the club, a player who was part of the teams 2020 Challenge Cup success and last season’s Grand Slam.
Vallerand tied Mitchell Balmas with 32 goals in all competitions last season, his overall record in the Elite League is also outstanding, notching 138 goals and 287 points in 243 games (for Sheffield and the Coventry Blaze).
Announcing his return, head coach Aaron Fox said “Valley coming back gives us an automatic 25 to 35 goal scoring threat.
“Marco has been an elite two-way player for us that has played his best Hockey when it matters most.
“He’s also a guy who led the league in power play goals. Valley has had a good summer getting healthy and will come in in good shape ready to go”.Speaking from his home in Montreal Vallerand commented “after the year we all had last season this wasn’t really a hard decision, I think people all know the affection I have for the club and the fans who have treated me so well in my time as a Steeler
“Aaron had done an incredible job recruiting this team and then being able to bring such a large core of the Grand Slam side back shows the intent we have to try and do it again this coming season
“Having another crack at the CHL is also a big reason for a return as well. I played in the competition with Ljubljana and we perhaps didn’t have a side that could compete, I think the Steelers team we are putting together does have a chance to win games and it is certainly something all of us want to do”
