Diffley back for a third season with the Steelers
Back for a 3rd season with the Steelers, Grand Slammer Brien Diffley put pen to paper on a new deal this summer which included an MBA programme with Sheffield Hallam University.
Diffley has already played 141 games for the Steelers in all competitions including the Champions Hockey League.
“The last two years have been so great for me” said Diff, “To be amongst this great core group of guys we have, terrific coaches and ownership, there is something special here.
“Like others I examined my options, that’s only natural, but everything came back pointing to Sheffield.
“Off the ice we are treated so well and on the ice Foxy makes things comfy for us with his systems and style of play”.
This year Diff will also be combining his Steelers work with an MBA programme at Sheffield Hallam University “This was super important to me, we tried to get it sorted last year so this year it was a priority.
“My Mom was the first member of the family to go to University to obtain their Masters, so I am doing this to honour her memory and I’m looking forward to it. I have always valued my education, and this is an excellent opportunity for me”.
Head Coach Aaron Fox said “Really happy to have Diff back for another year.
“He’s such an important piece of our D-core. Diff can play a shut down role with his skating ability and has an elite ability to close quickly and has a great stick. He’s great on retrievals and in transition he can also join the rush and will chip in offensively.
“Diff has been an important guy in our dressing room as well. It’s great to have him back and I know he’s coming back with something to prove”.
