The Steelers Arrive as we Move Closer to the Season Start
Cormier Back in Sheffield as Steelers Arrivals Continue
Another familiar face is back in Sheffield as preparations for the new season continue to gather pace.
Dominic Cormier became the latest Steeler to arrive back in the city on Monday, accompanied by his wife Richelle and four-legged companion Jersey after flying in from Canada.
The 2026-27 campaign will be Cormier’s fourth season with the Steelers, having originally joined the club midway through the historic 2024 Grand Slam season from Norwegian side Stjernen Hockey.
Since then, Dom has become a hugely popular member of Aaron Fox’s side and another important part of the returning core assembled for the new campaign.
Cormier follows Brandon Whistle, who was the first player through the arrivals hall at the weekend as he returned to Sheffield following a season with the Belfast Giants.
And now the airport runs are about to get considerably busier!
Tuesday is expected to see another four members of the new-look Steelers roster arrive in the UK, with Mitchell Balmas, Mikko Juusola, Aatu Aarnio and Leevi Teissala flying into Manchester and Heathrow airports.
The remainder of Aaron Fox’s squad will continue to arrive throughout the week, with everyone expected to be settled in Sheffield ahead of the weekend and the start of preparations for the new season.
The players are coming home, the ice is down and the countdown is well and truly on. 🧡🏒

Your first chance to see Aaron Fox’s new look Steelers side in Sheffield will be on Sunday 30th August when we take on Cardiff Devils (4.00pm)
The Steelers famous “Shirt Launch” and “Meet the Players” night will be on Friday 4th September (free to enter event) before we take on Manchester Storm the day afterwards, Saturday 5th September (7.00pm)
