Sandman Hotel Season Ticket Surprise
There are some surprises you never forget and young Steelers fans Frank and Antoni Bajorek certainly won’t forget this one in a hurry.
The brothers are the sons of Jagoda, who works at the Sandman Signature Hotel in Sheffield, and over the last year the boys have become huge Steelers supporters after being introduced to ice hockey through the hotel’s close relationship with the club.
It didn’t take long for them to catch the Steelers bug.
So, with another season approaching, the team at Sandman decided they wanted to do something rather special for the family.
Three Steelers season tickets ensuring Frank, Antoni and mum Jagoda can be at the Utilita Arena for every home game this season.
There was just one thing left to decide.
How do you tell them?
Well, we thought we could make the moment even more memorable.
With the Steelers and Steeldogs gathering at the Sandman Signature Hotel for Induction Day, Frank and Antoni were invited along without knowing exactly what was waiting for them.
Then Steelers defencemen Dominic Cormier and Macoy Erkamps stepped forward with a very special envelope.
Inside were their season tickets.
And judging by the smiles in the photograph above, we think the surprise worked!
“I think the boys had a big surprise,” smiled Cormier.
“I handed them the envelope and they were wondering what was inside. When they realised they were going to be coming to every game this season, their faces were a joy to see.
“It was a really cool thing to be part of.”
For Frank and Antoni, a love of the Steelers that started only last season has suddenly become something even more special.
Sandman Signature Hotel Sheffield are the official hotel partners of the Steelers and once again hosted both the Steelers and Steeldogs for their Induction Days on Monday.
For two young members of the Orange Army, though, this particular Induction Day will be remembered for a very long time.
