Over 3,000 Attend Steelers Shirt Launch

Just an incredible night from start to finish at the Arena on Friday as the Steelers launched their home, away and cup shirt in front of over 3,000 fans.

Fans took the chance to buy their Steelers shirts, collect their season tickets as well as listen to live music from The Rosadocs and then watch as the whole team was introduced onto the stage.

There was still time for autographs and photo’s though new captain Robert Dowd was the last to leave having to sign many items outside after the building was closed.

The doors opened at 6pm but prior to that many Steelers sponsors were already inside the building meeting the new team.

Mike O’Connor and the commercial team were hard at it as sponsors met their individual players, had a chat and a bite to eat.

Back downstairs inside the Arena the party was in full force with The Rosadocs playing to the 3000 plus inside.

The Rosadocs have just SOLD-OUT their first concert at City Hall.

Time to introduce the players with goalies Matt Greenfield and Anthony Morrone first out.

They were joined by the Day family from PuckStop who once again have kindly agreed to sponsor the kit of our two import goalies.

They had bought their two new masks to show Matt and Anthony and made those presentations.

One huge cheer was for Colton Saucerman, his huge beard once again became the topic of conversation and he met up with distant relative Steeler Dan

In fact the two faced-off against each other to the crowds amusement.

The biggest cheer of the night came when it was confirmed that Robert Dowd would be taking over as Team Captain – the arena went crazy.

Scott Allen and Daniel Ciampini then joined Dowdy on stage as they were announced as assistant captains.

The night closed with a team photo before the guys joined the supporters for some photos and autographs.

Players and fans mixed for over 90 minutes following the end of the player presentations.

We hope you had a great night with the boys at the Arena and we all look forward to seeing you again on Saturday for Game-Day Vs. Cardiff Devils.
