Both Mikko Juusola and Joona Huttula Re-Sign for the Steelers for 25-26
The Steelers are delighted to confirm the re-signing of both Mikko Juusola and Joona Huttula for the 2025-26 Elite League season.
It will be Mikko’s 3rd season in Sheffield after signing from HC Energie Karloff Vary in Czechia
Mikko led the Steelers in team scoring last year with 27 league goals (and 55 points). In 148 EIHL and CHL games for the club Mikko has scored 58 goals and 132 points
Head Coach Aaron Fox said “Mikko coming back was a no brainer for us. Such a reliable two way player who didn’t miss a game this year.
“He Led our team in goals scored in all competitions, and finished 2nd in points. His elite skating and edge work sets him apart. Such a high character and great guy in the room.
“We are all really happy he’s back for another year”.
Joona also played with HC Energie karlovy Vary in Czechia in both 2023 and 2024 before heading to Sheffield.
With 7 goals and 26 points, Joona played 67 games on the blue line for the Steelers last year, in league, cup, play off and CHL action.
Head Coach Aaron Fox said “Joona plays such a heavy and physical game.
“One of those guys who does everything hard and with intent. You are looking for guys who have a high compete level and willing to play that way every night. He started to find his offence around the mid point of the season which is something he can build on next year.
“I think he skates really well for his size and showed that more as the season went on. Another great guy in the room and will be a guy that has real leadership qualities”.
