Robert Dowd led the way with 2 goals and 3 points in the Steelers 5-0 road win in Dundee

First Period …

Josh Nicholls had the Steelers first chance with Kevin Carr making his first save of the night in the first minute.

Steelers started well had they had the Stars penned into their own zone early on.

Matt Greenfield was called on to make some important saves of his own as Dundee found their feet mid-way through the period.

Mikko Juusola and Marco Vallerand both had chances in the same shift but Carr again stood tall

With just 67 seconds remaining Brett Neumann made the pass to Patrick Watling who fired past Carr for the games opening goal

A great start to the period for the Steelers with Dominic Cormier blasting home for the Steelers to double our advantage (0-2) assisted Daniel Ciampini.

Brendan Harms went for boarding at 25.01 with Mitchell Balmas down and helped back to the bench.

25.51 and a little fight as All and Saucerman exchanged punches, both taking 5 minute penalties in the process.

29.14 and what a tip by Daniel Ciampini with the re-direct past Kevin Carr for the 3-0 lead (assisted Nevalainen and Dowd (699 point))

31.25 and Steelers take their first penalty as Marco Vallerand is called for tripping – Steelers killed the Dundee advantage

33.58 and a historic goal as Robert Dowd made it 4-0, it was Dowdy’s 700th point in the EIHL (assisted Mitchell Balmass) with a close range finish.


Third Period …

42.15 and any hope the Stars had were extinguished when Robert Dowd scores his 2nd of the night from a tight angle

Zach Vinnell made a nice play and faked a shot to make a pass to Brett Neumann who just failed to connect

Dowdy was everywhere and made a great block on the goal line when Matt Greenfield was out of position
