As tickets sales go through the roof for the Steelers next home against Manchester Storm (all tickets just £8) next Wednesday, Steelers captain Robert Dowd says he is excited at the thought of another huge crowd at the Arena
“To skate out to a full house and hear that roar is something very special” said Dowdy ” who wouldn’t want to play in an atmosphere like that
“It’s one of the reasons we play the sport, for the fans, and to see their excitement when we score and win games.
“The feeling inside our home building this year has been as good as I ever remember it, its like a wall of noise when you skate out at the introduction and then when the lights go on and see you the place so full you think “wow, this is something special”
“The hairs on the back of my neck still go up, you would think you would get used to it but I never want to take it for granted .
“I think since the club started doing these £8 game we have seen attendances rise and so many new people find the sport and the Steelers, so many of them then become fans and follow us home and away. We seem to turn every rink Orange these days. I’m sure Coventry will be Orange on Sunday
“The club have told us to expect a really busy night next Wednesday against Manchester with over 6200 already sold, I’m guessing ti will be an 8000 night and those kind of evenings are just off the charts for us all”
