An Emotional Night For Us All
Those present at the Remembrance Tribute prior to last Sunday’s game will remember the name Flight Lieutenant Peter Pascoe, the 92 year old veteran that was kind enough to attend the match and stand before you in our tribute pre game.
Peter arrived at the arena at 2.30pm with his son Richard and Grand Children Sophia and Emilia, he was introduced to many of the Cardiff players and staff as he walked down the corridor.
Steelers head coach Aaron Fox and Captain Robert Dowd were also on hand for a few words.

After rehearsals with all of the cadets, Peter and his family hit the Suites where they met club owners Tony and Karen Smith
The Steelers year or year pay an amazing tribute to the veterans of the armed services, this is a very special night for our club, however, with Flight Lieutenant Peter Pascoe in the house this one was a little bit special
As the Introduction started, the cadets of the RAF made their way around concourse and were on full show when the lights came up as the teams stood on the blue lines.
Flight Sergent Gary McFadden, Corporal Matt Dunn, Corporal Jamie Plats and ASI Alecia Jackson were first called out as they would lay the wreath at centre ice.

The arena was silent as the tribute to Peter was read out, what a life, what service this man gave to us all.
It was of no surprise that many shed a tear and that everyone able stood and applauded, our way of saying “Thank You”

As expected, Peter didn’t move a muscle during the last post, the 2 minutes silence, Reveille and the National Anthem, our eyes fixed on him, full of admiration.
Peter would return to the Suites to watch the game with his family, the club presented Sophia and Emilia with Steelers shirts that they wore proudly all night.
What an incredible Gentlemen.
