Dowdy’s First Competitive Game as Captain

Robert Dowd

It will be Robert Dowds first competitive game as Captain of the Steelers and one he is looking forward to

“It’s the first game of the season, you have to be super excited about that, being Captain, well that’s just a huge bonus

“We have had a great pre-season, have played well and I think got on really well as a team, that’s not always the case with so many new faces. There is a good felling in the room right now with everyone dialled in to what Aaron wants

“The first game is always important, you want to get off to a good start and we will be desperate to give the fans something to cheer about on Saturday”

Foxy Ready…

Head coach Aaron Fox says that he couldn’t have asked for more out of his team this pre-season

“It’s been a good couple of weeks, I’m sure we would have liked a little longer but now it’s time to get going and I feel that we are ready as a group. The guys have bought in and I think they like the look of what we are trying to achieve here

“The league seems to have improved top to bottom which is good news for the fans as the product they will watch every week just keeps getting better

“We hope to deliver an exciting and winning brand of hockey that encourages the incredible support we have seen pre season. Saturday can’t come soon enough”
