Mike Mawer

Mike Mawer joined the Steelers during the 2021-22 season though had been associated with the club assisting his brother Danny who occupied a similar role in the years previous.

Mawer was born in Grimsby to a hockey family with a love for the sport continuing through to this day, Mikes playing career involved time with his hometown club as well as the Sheffield ENL sides and Widnes.

Educated at Sheffield University, Mike obtained both an undergraduate and post graduate degree in Sports and Exercise Science and went on to work for the University as their Strength and Conditioning Co-ordinator.

Mike works throughout the playing and off season with all Steelers players and has previously also worked the GB women’s side and individually with GB men’s senior players.
