Reece Kelly joined the Steelers just prior to transfer deadline day from the Glasgow Clan.

Between 2016 and 2020, Reece played his junior years at the Ontario Hockey Academy before heading to Europe—first with the Stavanger Oilers (U21) in Norway, and then with IPK U20 in Finland.

Returning to home shores in 2022–23 on a two-way contract with Bristol and Cardiff, the following season Reece moved back to his homeland in Scotland, signing for the Glasgow Clan, where he played the entirety of the 2023–24 season and the majority of last season before his move to Sheffield.
